Assessment Types Needed for a Robust MTSS Plan (One Page Article)

Tier One: This is known as core instruction that made accessible and provide support for 100% of our students. Assessments given as this level are typically given by the general education teacher, but specific building plans could include support by other educators in the system.

Tier Two: This tier is normally known to provide targeted supplemental interventions for student identified through screeners assessments. Assessments given in this tier are given by a variety of educators including support staff as well as the general education teacher.

Tier Three: This tier is normally kept for more intensive interventions and supports. They are based on individualized plans based on student need. Assessments at this tier are typically provided by special education staff.
