Grade 1 Student Solutions

In Mrs.Allie's Grade 1 class, the students worked together to create a life size igloo using cardboard, balloons and felt. 

Grade 3 Student Solutions

In Ms. Pam's Grade 3 class, students used the E3 thinking routine to plan, design and create 3D igloo models using a variety of estimation strategies and materials. 

Grade 6 Student Solutions

In Ms. Blair's Grade 6 class, students used a variety of design, measurement and estimation strategies to plan and create 3D igloo models. 

Igloo Building on the Arctic Ocean 

All grades built igloos with Elder Sandy and his family. This activity was coordinated and planned by Candice Cockney, Mangilaluk School's Land-Based Educator and High School Inuvialuktun Teacher.
