SCEAA Conference Workshop on Service Learning
Click the image to see a recording of this workshop.
At the November 2021 SCEAA conference, Blue Dragon discussed the impact of keeping reciprocity at the heart of service learning and how it ensures that both the Blue Dragon children, and the students from our partner schools learn from each other and grow together.
Here at Blue Dragon we see huge value in the collaborative nature of the community of schools who support us. We would love to share the resources you create with other teachers and schools. Please send them to us!
Send docs or presentations in any format to schools@bdcf.org and we will add them to this library.

upschool supports Blue Dragon
Upschool has a range of dynamic, free and online short courses to prepare students to change the world.
Check out this 10 week course on narrative writing. Students learn how to write and publish a book about a cause they believe in. And they can raise money for Blue Dragon along the way.
Why We Believe Service Learning Matters
At the centre of service learning is the reciprocal collaboration between school and NGO.
The objectives of an NGO and a school are surprisingly similar: we all want to support the development of empathy, agency and a sense of meaning and purpose for every child and every adult we work with. Learning, growing, building a better world: none of it is easy and rarely is it simple. We have found that the best way to find success is through collaborations that build understanding, respect and purpose together.
