Students must earn a minimum of 30 credits (7.50 per year) in the following areas:
English - 4
Math - 4
Science - 4
Social Studies - 4
Technical - 12
Health/PE - 2
As approved by the Joint Board, only those students who complete all 30 credits, as required for each curricular area, and complete the graduation project will graduate and participate in the graduation ceremony. The purpose of the graduation project is to assure that the student can apply, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate information and communicate significant knowledge and understanding.
As part of the graduation project, NOCTI testing must be completed.
A student who satisfactorily completes a special education program developed by an Individualized Education Program team shall be granted and issued a regular high school diploma from BCTHS. All potential graduates must have earned senior status with a total of 22.5 credits earned by August 15 of their Junior year in order to attend BCTHS as a senior.
KEYSTONE PROFICIENCY PATHWAY:
Scoring “Proficient” or “Advanced” on each Keystone Exam – Algebra 1, Literature and Biology
KEYSTONE COMPOSITE PATHWAY:
Earning a composite score of 4452 on the Algebra I, Literature, and Biology Keystone Exams (while achieving at least a proficient score on at least one of the three exams and no less than a basic score on the remaining two)
- OR -
CTE PATHWAY:
Passing their Algebra 1, Literature and Biology courses at BCTHS
AND
Demonstrating proficiency in one of the three following pieces of evidence:
a. Earning an industry-based certification.
b. Passing the NOCTI Assessment (technical assessment administered in the Senior year)
c. Demonstrating career readiness by completing the technical area program of study.
