Hello, my name is Alanna Davis, I started my career as a School Counselor, when Town Creek Elementary opened in August of 2009. Prior to this career, I was Parent Facilitator at Southport Elementary for seven years.
I received my Master's Degree in School Counseling at Webster University in Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Bachelor of Arts degree from N.C. Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, NC.

Hello, my name is Jennifer Read, I have been a Counselor at Town Creek Elementary since September of 2020. Prior to this career, I was an employee for New Hanover County Schools for six years.
I received my Undergraduate and Graduate Degree in Counseling from UNC- Pembroke in Pembroke, NC.

As School Counselors, our services for students and families include:
Provide individual and small-group counseling to help students navigate social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
Support students in developing positive relationships with peers and teachers.
Teach coping strategies, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation skills.
Provide immediate support to students experiencing crises, such as a family issue or a traumatic event.
Educate students about empathy, respect, and personal safety through classroom lessons and activities.
Serve as a liaison between students, parents, and other professionals (such as social workers or psychologists) to ensure comprehensive support.
Encourage a growth mindset, self-confidence, and positive attitudes toward school and learning.
