.This is more than a notes-and-vocabulary science class! Students will have opportunities to think, investigate, collaborate, and apply what they learn. Throughout the course, students can expect:
π Hands-On Investigations & Labs β Use observations, measurements, and evidence to explore scientific concepts.
π§ Problem Solving & Critical Thinking β Apply science concepts to new situations and real-world problems.
π₯ Collaboration β Work with classmates during labs, activities, discussions, and challenges.
π Data & Graphs β Collect, analyze, and interpret scientific data.
𧩠Interactive Learning β Participate in stations, games, challenges, models, and other activities.
π Real-World Connections β Discover how physical science explains things you encounter every day.
During Physical Science, we will explore topics such as matter and its properties, atoms and the periodic table, chemical reactions, forces and motion, energy, waves, electricity, and magnetism.
As we move through these topics, students will be encouraged to ask one important question:
Physical Science has CMA (Content Mastery Assessment) at the end of the semester that is worth 20% of their overall grade. Students can be exempt from the CMA based on their grades and attendance:
