Hi! My name is Ashanda Grissett and I am a proud STEMINIST. This will be my 20th year of being a science teacher. I'm originally from Queens NY and taught at a Middle School in Brooklyn NY from 2007-2010. I moved to Brunswick County in 2010 and I have been teaching here since then -back when it was BCA and now The COAST. Fun fact, no one in this building has been working here longer than I have😎. This school year I will be teaching 3 classes of Earth Environmental Science in the Fall semester and 2 Physical Science classes and one Biology class in the Spring semester.
I graduated from Pace University with a Bachelors of Science in Biology in 2006 and a Masters of Science for Teachers in 2008. I received my National Board Certification in Earth and Space Science in 2024. I believe that ALL children can learn and achieve success. I enjoy creating an engaging learning environment that helps students discover their potential and reach their goals.
I am a proud boy mom. My oldest son graduated from West Brunswick back in 2018 and I currently have a middle schooler at South Middle. I love traveling, spending time with my family, going to the beach, reading/listening to audiobooks, roller skating, watching True Crime documentaries, listening to podcasts and Beyonce 👑.
