I am a Brunswick County native and a graduate of North Brunswick High School (Class of 1999). After receiving the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholarship and graduating from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, I made the decision to teach in Brunswick County and to hopefully make a difference in the lives of students the same way that my teachers did for me! I began in the school system as a tutor during the 2003-2004 school year and started as a full-time teacher during the 2004-2005 school year. I have taught middle school Social Studies, World History, US History, American History I, American History II, Civics, and Economics and Personal Finance. I am currently teaching AP World History and AP Human Geography.
As a social studies teacher, I am passionate about history, government, and our community. I encourage all of my students to take an interest in subjects that they find interesting and/or where they feel that they can make a difference.
All student work is accessible through Google Classroom.
I am very responsive to parent and student emails if you have any questions or concerns throughout the semester. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time.
Below are some pictures of my dogs (Arya - Shepherd & Mojo - Lab). I have one son who graduated from NBHS in 2022. I also have two nieces and three nephews. The hound mix, Sam, passed away at age 15 in December 2021.
