Throughout this semester we will explore literature through its basic explorations and discoveries, identity and culture, conflict and oppression, as well as an overall marketplace of ideas. What follows are basic class expectations which will allow us to do well this year.
This is a junior level class meaning there are junior level expectations. Junior year is arguably the hardest year of high school with ACT testing, sending out college applications, being able to legally work, being able to legally drive, and just being a teenager and a junior in high school.
2025-2026 - Two Major Changes:
~ This year Brunswick County Schools has purchased the InfiniteCampus program for record keeping/grading as well as the myPerspectives curriculum for all high school English classes.
~ These are brand new programs, but programs that should be beneficial to students. Please know that since these programs are new to both students and teachers, there will be minor issues and/or mistakes that will occur as we continue to use these programs. If these occur, please reach out to ask questions or to let me know of the issues that occur. If it’s in my power and I am able to correct those mistakes myself I will, if I cannot then I will at least find the person who will be able to help.
In general though, don't worry yourselves too much because you are not alone and we will get through this semester together!
