About Me:
Welcome! My name is April Rogerson, and I’m proud to be part of the Bulldog family at Cedar Grove Middle School. I’ve been an educator in Brunswick County Schools for twenty-five years. For the first fifteen years of my career, I taught English Language Arts, and for the past ten years, I’ve served as the Media Coordinator here at CGMS.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from UNC Wilmington and later completed my Master’s Degree in Library Science at East Carolina University. My passion for literacy and student engagement drives everything I do in the Media Center—from helping students find that perfect independent reading book to hosting fun events like Book Bistro and Blind Date With a Book.
One of the highlights of my year is coaching our award winning CGMS Battle of the Books team. I love seeing students come together over a shared love of reading and grow as both learners and teammates.
My goal is to create a welcoming, vibrant space where every student can discover the joy of reading and become a lifelong learner.
