"A New Beginning"

In 2020, our very own Brunswick Middle School Band had a piece of music written specifically for us.  This was an amazing experience as our students got to interact with the composer and share their thoughts on the music throughout the process of creating the piece as well!  

This piece of music pays tribute to Maude Edwards, Louis J. Visintainer, and Jack Willetts: the three individuals who Brunswick's three previous middle schools were named after.  When those buildings were torn down (EMS & VMS) and Brunswick Middle School was created, our band teachers got together to create this amazing experience for our students!  

If you haven't had the chance to watch "A New Beginning," a documentary and music premiere, we highly encourage you to do so!  Several teachers, administrators, and community members were interviewed as they shared their stories about these three special people who are very special to Brunswick City Schools and it's surrounding community.  The video includes the history of Brunswick Middle School being built, and a music video recording of our 2020-21 8th-grade band performing the original performance of composer, Jeff Herwig's piece titled, "A New Beginning."  We hope you enjoy this special tribute!
