One of our 6th grade students has been compiling videos to help students and parents understand the different strategies for 5th grade math. We hope these are helpful when studing or working on homework problems.

In this unit we're focused on all the little pieces left in math. We're plotting points on a coordinate plane; looking at the relationship of numbers show with ordered pairs; the hierarchy of quadrilaterals and other fun things with shapes.
Starting the week of the 18th we're taking a deep dive into EOG prep. You'll notice our weekly work starting with 34 is reviewing all things fractions.
Fractions is a HUGE part of the 5th math EOGS.

Science
Last but not least, Force & Motion.
Force and Motion focuses on the 3 different types of force, applied force, gravity and friction. Students will participate in multiple labs to show the various ways things move.
We'll be talking about speed, direction and time calculations using graphs to illustrate and pull information from.
