PSAT/PreACT

PSAT/NMSQT FAQs

WHAT: The PSAT/NMSQT is a great practice test before you take the SAT and is offered at a cheaper price. The only way to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship is to take this test as a Junior. Side note: In order to take the SAT you will need to register on your own through CollegeBoard.com.  The school will not register students for the SAT.

WHO: All current 10th and 11th graders should register to take the PSAT for practice before the SAT and/or to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship.

WHEN: The PSAT/NMSQT is offered through CollegeBoard on a national test date that they set.  It is generally on a Wednesday in mid-October during the school day.

HOW: TCR will advertise when the sign up window is for this test in the weeks prior to the administration.

CAN I PRACTICE?  Yes!  Just visit this link: PSAT Practice

SCORES

HOW DO I ACCESS MY SCORES: Scores are sent to students via the email address they provided when they took the test.  If you are still having trouble accessing scores you can visit the counseling department in December (when scores are generally mailed).
