ELA

This week students continued reading Ramayana. Students started to analyze the character archetypes that they are seeing in the story, like the hero, shadow character, and mentor. Students also learned the importance of logical sequence of events in a story and how dharma and karma play a role in the story. Students should finish their research on the person they are researching for their wax museum project by next Friday. Students will be working on their presentations in the media center next Friday, so they should finish their research so they have time to work on their project.

Next week, students will continue to read Ramayana. Students will analyze a chapter in Ramayana to look closer at the structure of that chapter. Students will also look at the theme and big ideas of the story so far. They will also look at the word choices that were made and analyze why the author used those words.
