Room 1 — The Missing Classroom
The classroom door is locked, and the only clue on the board is one word: Syllabus.
Somewhere inside the syllabus is the key to where this class really lives. Find the Google Classroom code and use it to join the class. Once inside, open today’s agenda and look for the photo that was left behind.
To escape Room 1, answer this question:
Which singer appears on today’s agenda?
Room 2 — Unlock the Cell Phone
A glowing phone lies on the desk, but it has been locked by school rules. The only way to unlock it is to prove you understand what happens when a student breaks the phone policy.
Open the syllabus and find the Cell Phones / Electronic Devices section. Read what happens when a student is caught using a device for the first time.
To escape Room 2, complete this sentence:
The student’s device is __________________ by the teacher and returned at the end of the class period.
Room 3 — The Book Vault
A tall bookcase blocks the hallway. One shelf has been cleared, as if a book has been removed. The vault will only open for students who know which story begins this course.
Open the syllabus and find the Core Texts section.
To escape Room 3, answer this question:
Which book begins the course?
Room 4 — The Grade Book
Inside the vault is a large, dusty book labeled The Grade Book. A metal lock is wrapped around it. Only students who understand how their grade is calculated can open it.
Open the syllabus and find the Grading section. Use it to determine how much each type of work is worth.
To escape Room 4, enter the three numbers that represent the percentage of your grade that comes from Classwork/Homework, Quizzes/Tests, and Essays/Formal Writing, in #-#-# order.
Room 5 — The Missing Work File
A manila folder labeled Missing Work sits on the desk. Inside is a warning that work not turned in on time may disappear.
Open the syllabus and find the Homework / Late Work section. Read how long students have to submit late work.
To escape Room 5, complete this sentence:
Late work will not be accepted __________________ after the posted due date.
Room 6 — The Attendance Ledger
A final record book sits at the back of the room. Its title reads The Attendance Ledger. It decides who is allowed to escape the course at the end of the semester.
Open the syllabus and find the Attendance section. Look for the exam exemption rules.
To escape Room 6, answer this question:
How many absences can a student with a B have and still be exempt from the final exam?
Final Exit — The Emergency Contact
A red phone is mounted on the wall with a note above it:
“If you are lost, confused, or need help, this is the only way out.”
Open the syllabus and find the Communication Resources section. One of the contact methods listed belongs to your teacher.
To escape the classroom, enter the teacher’s email address exactly as it appears in the syllabus.
