Teacher Cadet Honors 

Teacher Cadet 1 and 2 are not currently offered at TCR.

If you are interested in teaching, please consider joining our FTA, Future Teachers of America Club!

In addition, you can choose to take the Early Childhood class sequence and/or participate in the CTE internship program during your junior or senior year by participating in an internship in a classroom at the level of your choosing for a semester. 

Teacher Cadet 1 Honors:

Teacher Cadet 1 is an honors course that engages students to learn about themselves, children of all ages, the teaching profession, and more.  While the course focuses on education, you do not need to plan to be a teacher to benefit from this course.

-Students work collaboratively with me to explore concepts in education, culture, and life to develop a better understanding of themselves as learners and as possible teachers.

-This class entails a multiple week field experience in a classroom: typically at Estes, Koontz, Valley Springs, or TCR.

-Teacher Cadets must be responsible, respectful, and willing to engage in self discovery and be an active part of a community of learners. 

This course is limited to Juniors, Seniors and by teacher recommendation, Sophomores.

Course Syllabus

Teacher Cadet 2 Honors:

This course has a prerequisite of Teacher Cadet 1.  Students in Teacher Cadet 2 will complete an extended practicum experience in a classroom setting assisting teachers and facilitating student learning.
