Spanish Teacher

Students in my classroom experience insightful, motivating lessons in an environment that is supportive and equitable for all types of learners. Students feel safe and welcome. They hear a lot of Spanish and positive feedback to encourage them to be lifelong language learners. I am a teacher because I want to help students become the best version of themselves. Spanish is my avenue for supporting their journey. I choose to work here because of the diverse perspectives that empower the school community to achieve their goals.

¡Bienvenidos a la clase de Español!

I would like to take some time to tell you a little about myself. I was born in Syracuse, New York. I attended Niagara University where I played soccer all four years. I graduated with a BA in Spanish. I had the opportunity to study abroad in Seville, Spain. It was an incredible experience.

After graduating college, I moved to Colorado. I spent a few years traveling and exploring the beautiful Rocky Mountains. I moved to the Asheville area in 1998. I started my teaching career with Asheville City Schools. I became a member of the Buncombe County Schools team in 2000.

In my free time I enjoy gardening, music, sports, and spending time with my family. My husband and I live in Candler with our son, three dogs and a cat.
