Final Exam Exceptions:
For this class, optional exam exceptions are an incentive.
• a grade of “A” and no more than four (4) absences, OR
• a grade of “B” and not more than three (3) absences, OR
• a grade of “C” and not more than two (2) absences.
All absences, whether excused or unexcused, will be counted when determining eligibility for
exam exemptions. The determination for exemption will be based on attendance prior to the day
of the first exam. Principals may waive absences beyond the above limits for documented absences that are outside of the student's control (for example, absences due to medical reasons or transportation issues) or properly documented college visits. The principal (consistent with GS 115C-288) has final authority to determine a student's exemption status.
Final grade is calculated as follows:
1st nine weeks: 40% 2nd nine weeks: 40% final exam: 20%
