A student's performance on a college admission test (ACT or SAT) continues to play a role in a student's application for college admission. Although some schools are providing an option for student's to report their scores, most schools still want to see that a student has at least attempted the ACT or the SAT. For very competitive and highly prestigious schools, it is wise for a student to take the ACT/SAT multiple times to maximize his or her chances of obtaining a high overall composite score.
Standardized test scores may be required for certain scholarships.
