Anna Morris

My name is Anna Morris and I am the Band Teacher at C.T. Koontz Intermediate School. I have a passion for instrumental music and music history. My goal as an educator is for my students to not only learn how to play an instrument but also develop an understanding and appreciation for music of all backgrounds.

TEACHER BIO:

Anna Morris received a B.S. Ed. in Music Education and B.A. in Spanish from Western Carolina University (Go Cats!). She has worked with middle school and high school students in a variety of settings including concert band, marching band, chamber ensembles and private Flute lessons. During her time at WCU, Anna has performed as a soloist and as a member in chamber ensembles, Pride of the Mountains Marching Band, WCU Wind Ensemble and with the Asheville Symphony Orchestra. Anna was also an active member with various music organizations on campus including United Sound, National Association for Music Education, Flute Society, and Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity.

Outside of teaching, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her husband and cats.

BEING A PART OF THE BAND:

In Mrs. Morris’ band classes, students learn a variety of instrument techniques and perform fun and engaging repertoire in a band setting. Band is offered as a year-long class starting in the 6th grade in the Roberson district. Students from the Roberson district band programs frequently perform with NCMEA regional and all-state ensembles as well as the annual BCS all-county band and local youth orchestras.
