Band Information
Beginning Band is open to all 6th grade students. Band is a YEAR LONG class that meets every day. This is the only grade where Beginning Band is offered. Students must complete a year of Band if they would like to play in Middle School. No prior musical experience is necessary to enroll, and students will learn everything they need to know to play their instrument in the ensemble. Instruments taught include: Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, and Percussion.

Beginning Band Parent Information
All instruments (new or used) and supplies can be purchased at Music & Arts Asheville, NC. Music & Arts also has an instrument rental program that can be done for the year. All rental agreements are done through the store and not through the Koontz Band Program.
