Anxiety is an emotion characterized by feelings of tension, worried thoughts, and physical changes like increased blood pressure. Many struggle with this disorder. There are high numbers in teens, more than one in three have to go day by day in the US alone with this disorder. It correlates to many other mental health disorders like depression, PTSD, & OCD. Many just think its a sense of fear or stress but it is far more complex than that. You get these long lasting waves of threat that may cause you to go through an Anxiety Attack. So many things can cause a child to be diagnosed with Anxiety. For example: Trauma, poor physical or mental health, stress relating to their schools or even jobs, and even social isolation. Going through anxiety is not an easy thing for someone let alone a teen.
We strongly believe that Anxiety does branch off into every single one of the Mental Disorders that anyone can struggle with. Anxiety is the main reason why students are scared to take tests to even walking up to a random classmate out of humiliation. This topic touches home for us because as teens we struggle with it too. It does take a lot of courage to talk about something you struggle with but we know that being able to talk about a mental disorders many of our peers struggle with it may encourage them to do so too. It may be even hard to control or maintain but knowing good coping mechanisms that help you, Anxiety can be managed.
