Our end of the year class celebration will be on Tuesday, May 23rd at 8:15 in our classroom.  Students will enjoy breakfast treats and sign yearbooks with the other two classes.  At 8:55 students will go to encore until 9:35.  During this time parents may help clean up from the celebration.  At 9:45 we will head to the cafeteria or gym for the year end awards assembly.  This should last about 30 minutes with the conclusion around 10:30.

Greenfield will be celebrating all things books and reading for Read Across America!  We would love for your student to participate.  We will be celebrating the following spirit days:

See below for information about how we are celebrating Kindness Week at Greenfield.  


The week of Feb. 14-17 is Kindness week

We will be having the following Spirit Days: 

Monday -Parent-Teacher Conference Day

Tuesday- Be Kind and Loving - Wear a heart (Valentine’s Day).

Wednesday-Be a Kindness Superhero- Wear a hero costume or t-shirt. No masks, please.

Thursday-Let Your Kindness Shine- Wear sparkles, shiny things, or neon.

Friday-Our Students Are Kind- Wear spirit wear or school colors (green and blue).


Parent Letter:

Your child received 5 paper hearts in his or her green dragon folder this week. If you catch your child being extra helpful, considerate or kind, please write your child’s act(s) of kindness on a heart and send the hearts back to school in your child’s folder. We will share the acts of kindness with the class and post the hearts around the school building. 


We will also be holding a canned food drive the week of February 20-24 to spread kindness in our community. Please consider sending in non-perishable food items that can be donated to the Botetourt Food Pantry.

Specific foods requested by the Food Pantry are:

Breakfast items such as cereal, flavored oatmeal and Nutri-grain bars

Canned fruit

Hamburger Helper (they provide meat)

Other non-perishable items are also appreciated
