City Schools Blackboard is the district's learning management system. All students and staff have access and the system is linked to the student information system (Infinite Campus) so that course enrollments are set up automatically. This means that every teacher has an online instance of each section as soon as the school scheduler sets it up. This empowers teachers to use Blackboard and other digital resources to implement differentiation and blended learning strategies. In addition, there is a resource portal linked on Blackboard that gives teachers access to web applications and tools for research in order to help make learning more personalized and engaging.
Additionally, Blackboard is often used and a professional deveolpment/training tool. Because the system uses tracking for completion of assignments & projects, collaboration, for staff learning, it can provide strong data around course completion and scores.
Blackboard is also where teachers will go to submit their Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs), a required part of the evaluation for most teachers and where staff will go to complete some required training courses, such as the EEOC training course.
