Wholeness Room Vision Statement

Student Wholeness Rooms are oases of calm where students may find support from a caring adult, engage in quiet reflection, and cultivate fundamental social, emotional, and academic skills necessary for success in the classroom and beyond.

I am Ms. Fields, the Student Wholeness Specialist this year. This is my 4th year as a SWS and my 8th year being back with the district. I have a BA in Early Childhood Education with a Minor in Child Development and a MA in Education with a specialization in Family and Community Services.

I have added an intro letter and some fun facts to my Google and virtual classrooms. You can access my Google Classroom with code 5wzyz3q there you can find a link to my virtual classroom. Both rooms are filled with activities if you click around.

Family Activity

Mindfulness, which is a skill that helps us stay calm and in control. Take turns look around the room to find 5 things they can see, 4 things they can touch, 3 things they can hear, 2 things they can smell, and 1 thing they can taste. This is a grounding exercise that can help manage tough emotions and provide a mental reset when needed. After giving it a try, you can move to another room and try the same.
