Districtwide Transition to Reveal Math HQIM: Required Training for Phase 2 Schools on March 14th (morning)
Baltimore City Public Schools Board of School Commissioners approved the adoption of a new Math High-Quality Instructional Material (HQIM), Reveal Math. In SY24-25, 32 schools (Phase 1) participated in Phase 1 of implementing this new curriculum. Phase 2 schools will fully implement the Reveal Math HQIM for grades K-12 in SY25-26. All K-12 math teachers from Phase 2 schools will be required to complete an introductory virtual Reveal Math in the morning of the March 14th PL day. These teachers will be excused from attending their initial Choice Learning Arcs that day. For questions, please contact Kerry Steinbrenner, Director of Mathematics, klsteinbrenner@bcps.k12.md.us.
KickUp is the new platform for all Professional Learning. Prior to registering, review the yearlong Professional Learning Arc catalog. You will be pre-registered for your morning content session to ensure continuity of the Learning Arc from November. When logging in, review the ‘upcoming events’ tab on your homepage to locate your morning session. It is strongly recommended you continue your afternoon session from November as well, however you are not "locked in" to this Learning Arc until after the February session.
Go to KickUp to register for your afternoon session:
Academic Content Learning Arcs focus on the district guidance and updates on curricula, assessments, and teaching practices for specific disciplines and/or grade levels. The majority of content sessions are offered in the morning, however there are some content sessions in the afternoon for teachers who have multiple contents/grade levels. Please prioritize these sessions.
Teaching Profession Learning Arcs address content-agnostic educators’ needs that are focused on student supports: classroom management, behavioral interventions, culture and climate, building relationships with students and parents, pedagogy, instructional innovation, data-driven instruction, differentiation, instructional technology, district policy, SEL, and more.
