HUMAN RELATIONS COMMITTEE
The Human Relations Committee supports the BCPFFA’s commitment to promoting positive human relations in all aspects of the fire service. Every firefighter, regardless of race, colour, creed, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation or reason of disability, has the right to a safe and respectful workplace that fosters professional and personal balance. The BCPFFA Human Relations efforts support initiatives to help members achieve that ideal in their locals and fire departments through
Understand the issues facing our members by:
Creating sub-committees
Surveying the membership
Developing Resources to:
supporting the needs of our members
assisting locals in diversifying the workforce
develop model contract language to support diverse needs
Advise the BCPFFA Executive Board on Human Relations issues affecting our members.
To provide a confidential, safe space for members to voice concerns, ideas and considerations regarding human relations issues that affect the BCPFFA and its members.
The BCPFFA Human Relations Committee will advise and provide perspective to the Executive Board on matters relating to inclusion, unity, human relations skills, and the promotion of understanding between all members. Grounded in trust and integrity, the committee will operate under four key pillars: Advocacy, Resources, Support and Stewardship.
