Things will look a little different when you come back. You will see people wearing masks and face shields. We will all be practicing social distancing and following different procedures. If you are staying remote these first 9 weeks, it will be different for you too. It might feel weird for you or you might feel worried--and all of those feelings are ok to have! Remember--the masks, face shields, and and new guidelines are here to keep you and everyone around you healthy.
Do you like to imagine things? I do, too! You could pretend you are a brave knight, and the masks and shields are your armor as you move through your day. You could pretend you are an astronaut who is going on your first mission to outer space. My kids like to pretend they are doctors taking care of sick people when they wear their masks. You can imagine anything you like!
This school year is going to be different than we've ever experienced. It's going to be all new for me, too! Above all, we want to keep our classmates, family, friends, teachers, and ourselves safe and healthy.
Here is a video where I show you how to wear a mask and face shield. You can also listen to the story, Lucy's Mask, to find out how you can be a Super Badger hero!
The Yucky Bug is a story written by author Julia Cook and illustrated by kids for kids. This story explains this yucky bug and things we can do to help stop the spread and keep ourselves safe.

One of the things that will have to be different this year is how we say hello to people. Why does it have to change? We need to make sure that we give everyone around us a little bubble of safety. We call this social distancing. Think about the length of your bed--that's a safe distance because germs can't travel that far in the air. So how can you say hello? Your teacher will introduce you to some different Social Distance Greetings. Which is your favorite? The fun part is, you can use a new greeting each time you see someone!
