Student Organization Funding Committee (SOFC)
The Student Organization Funding Committee (SOFC) is a body of undergraduate students that serves as an intermediary between the Office of Student Involvement and the student organizations of Boston College. Our mission is to support student organizations and their activities, maximizing the value they bring to the Boston College community through an equitable allocation of student activity fees.
The Role of Your SOFC Representative
Your SOFC representative is an undergraduate student who serves on the SOFC for 5 semesters. Each committee member serves represents around 10 clubs and will correspond with their treasurers regarding their budget. They discuss and vote with the committee to make funding decisions for all 200+ organizations. SOFC representatives:
Review and approve budgets based on the SOFC guidelines
Advocate on behalf of student organizations during budget reviews
Serve as a point of contact for club treasurers to ask questions about the budget submission process, SOFC decisions, and how to appeal decisions
Develop the guidelines to meet organizations’ needs over time
