The Boston College Core Curriculum guides students on journeys of interdisciplinary inquiry to discover how to think about the world. Students explore new ways of knowing and being, helping them discern who they want to be, how they want to live—and why. The Core Curriculum is comprised of fifteen requirements and can be completed over the course of the student's four undergraduate years.

Advance Placement (AP) Scores
Boston College participates in the Advanced Placement program of the College Entrance Examination Board. In general, a student scoring four or five on the exams will be awarded advanced placement. In some instances, a score of three will make a student eligible for advanced placement. In most cases, students do not earn actual credit, rather, they fulfill corresponding requirements in the University Core Curriculum. Students will still be required to take the full 120 credits necessary for graduation unless they have the equivalency of 30 AP credits, in which case you may qualify for advanced standing and would be eligible to graduate from Boston College in 3 years.
