As registration for the fall 2024 semester approaches, we want you to be aware of our registration and waitlist process to avoid confusion and stress as our classes fill up.

1. Our students typically take the required concentration/minor courses in the years listed below:

   • 2 Electives - Senior year (1 if abroad Junior year)

   • Corporate - Junior year (fall or spring)

   • Investments - Junior year (mostly in the spring and some will take it in the fall of Senior year)

   • Fundamentals - Sophomore (mostly in the spring and some will take it in the fall of Junior year)

2. Before registering for any class, please be sure to check that any pre-requisite course has been completed. The department will remove students from courses if the pre-req has not been completed.

3. Please do not reach out to finance faculty directly since the official waitlist is managed through the department and it will only delay your place on the waitlist.

4. Due to the very high demand for many of our classes, we cannot guarantee a particular professor or section.  If another section is open, we recommend you register for that one.  It is not guaranteed that if you place your name on the waitlist, you will be overridden into a class.  

5. GOOGLE WAITLIST FORM: The Google form to place yourself on a waitlist for MFIN classes will open on Friday, April 12 at 5:00 pm.  Please fill out a separate form for each class you are interested in (there will be an option to choose "any section" for those courses with multiple sections).

6. Please be patient with our process since it can take a lot of time to go through the waitlist with approximately 2,000 concentrators and minors.  You will receive an email if we can override you or to request further information or clarification.  Sometimes overrides can happen over the summer if we see that a seat opens up.

The Marketing Department is dedicated to accommodating as many students’ scheduling needs as possible. The official waitlist for MKTG classes is maintained by the department administrator. Individual faculty members are not authorized to grant overrides. Please do not email faculty directly for overrides before, during, or after registration, as it may delay your placement onto the official waitlist.

During registration, we ask that you attempt to register for your desired classes before contacting the Marketing Department. Additionally, we are unable to make changes to your schedule before your University-assigned registration time slot. All MKTG classes will have a number of seats open to CSOM and non-CSOM students. If you are unable to register for a specific class via EagleApps you may not qualify for any remaining open seat pools, and the department will need to override you or add you to the waitlist.

After your pick time, please fill out the following Google Form to be placed on the waitlist for a class for which you are unable to register. You should receive a response or request for more information on a rolling basis. For certain classes, this may be after registration has ended.

Though Financial Accounting is a required course for the Marketing minor, enrollment in the course is not handled by the Marketing department. Please follow the Accounting Department’s registration guidance to request an override or get onto a waitlist.
