BC Law Library Legal Research Badge — A self-paced, online program created by teaching and research librarians to help BC Law students master core legal research skills, including the effective and ethical use of generative AI, for practice and the NextGen Bar Exam. Demonstrate your expertise by adding a verified credential to your LinkedIn profile.
Hotshot Training Modules — Short video courses on practical AI topics, from LLM fundamentals and prompting to risks and legal ethics. BC Law students can follow a customized track to a Generative AI Fundamentals Certificate.

What's Behind the Answer? AI Literacy for Law Students — This workshop is designed to help 2L and 3L law students understand how generative AI (GAI) tools generate answers, including what data the tools are trained on and their inherent limitations. Demonstrating that students must apply the same critical evaluation skills they use when conducting research on any online source. Participants will learn practical criteria for assessing and selecting the right tool for a given research task, rather than assuming all AI tools are interchangeable.

AI Tools for Legal Research: Skills for Practice-Ready Lawyers — Can AI truly make your legal research faster and more accurate? Join T&R Librarians Amy Bruce and Stephanie Farne as they demonstrate how to integrate AI tools, including Westlaw's Deep Research/CoCounsel, Lexis Protégé, and other GenAI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini, into your research workflow without sacrificing accuracy. The session will cover best practices for verification, ethical considerations, and prompt engineering.
