Library Access:
As the local library remains under construction, several alternative options are available for participating in summer reading programs hosted by other local libraries.
Every library in the state is involved in summer reading initiatives aimed at mitigating the “summer slide.” To learn more about the Somerset County Library System's (SCLS) summer reading program, please visit their website. This program offers a wonderful opportunity for students to engage in reading while earning prizes.
Key Information for Faculty and Students:
Teacher Eligibility: Educators working in Somerset County are eligible for a free, one-year library card at any Somerset County library branch.
Student Benefits: In addition to required school summer reading assignments, promoting local library programs is highly beneficial. Students can enjoy reading while participating in exciting library activities—such as cooking classes, magic shows, and craft days—all while earning prizes.
