About Us

Miss Kolis

This year, Miss Kolis is starting her 21st year as a teacher.  She has taught students with mild/ moderate disabilities as well as moderate/ intensive disabilities.  This is Miss Kolis' 20th year in the BBH Schools after being at Hilton, Highland, and then the new BBHES.

Miss Kolis holds a Masters' Degree from Baldwin Wallace University in Educational Technology as well as a BA from Heidelberg University in Education.  She holds two teaching licensures (Early Childhood Education, Intervention Specialist) and two endorsements (Reading K-12, Technology K-12).  She also holds a certificate from Kent State University as a Behavior Intervention Specialist. She was a 2010 Recipient of the Cleveland Plain Dealer Crystal Apple and a 2005 Cleveland Cavaliers' Head of the Class Teacher.  She also played a large role in getting the STEAM program started for BBHES and helps out in the makerspace. 

In her free time, Miss Kolis loves reading, painting, riding her bike, playing with her dog Tuck, and being out in the sunshine.


Mrs. Vajda

This year, Mrs. Vajda is in her 23rd year as a special education assistant in the BBH Schools.  

She has three children and two beautiful grandchildren that she loves spending time with. In her free time, Mrs. Vajda loves boating and spending time with friends and family.

Mrs. Rizkala

This year, Mrs. Rizkala is in her 3rd year as a special education assistant in the BBH Schools. She joined Brecksville Broadview Heights City Schools in 2017 as an educational assistant. She has three daughters that graduated from the district. She loves spending time with her family especially on road trips, abroad vacations and movie nights. In her free time, Mrs. Rizkala loves expanding her cooking skills by trying new recipes. She also enjoys walking, listening to music and outdoor activities like gardening and attending to her flower beds.
