This year ('26-'27), Miss Kolis is starting her 24th year as a teacher. She has worked with students with both high- and lower-support needs. This is Miss Kolis' 23rd year in the BBH Schools after being at Hilton, Highland, and now the new BBHES.
Miss Kolis holds a Masters Degree from Baldwin Wallace University in Educational Technology as well as a BA from Heidelberg University in Education. She holds two teaching licensures (Early Childhood Education, Intervention Specialist) and two endorsements (Reading K-12, Technology K-12). She also holds a certificate from Kent State University as a Behavior Intervention Specialist. She was a 2010 Recipient of the Cleveland Plain Dealer Crystal Apple and a 2005 Cleveland Cavaliers' Head of the Class Teacher. She is the BBHES Special Education Team Co-Leader and the leader of the High-Support Needs team. She is also the Sustainability Comittee chairperson.
In her free time, Miss Kolis loves reading, painting, riding her bike, playing with her dog Tuck, and being out in the sunshine.
Mrs. P has been with the district for more than 10 years, starting out as a special education aide sub. She has since been in a variety of settings and now primarily works with students with autism. She has two daughters, one who graduated from BBHHS and one who is currently in 11th grade at BBHHS. Her older daughter is pursuing a graduate degree at Georgetown University.
Ms. Alex comes to us from ABA Outreach and is an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician). She started with the district at the end of the '24-'25 school year and we are thrilled to welcome her back for another school year!
Mrs. Vertosick has been with the district for the past 5 years. She started out as a special education aide at BBHMS and was an aide at Stepping Stone preschool for 3 years before joining us at the elementary last school year. She has a daughter who is in 10th grade at BBHHS and a son who is in 7th grade at BBHMS. She also has a Bachelor's degree from Penn State University.
