We know that each child is unique is his or her own way and holds true for children who are gifted. The affective needs of a gifted child are exhibited in seven ways:

  1. Nurturing the gifted learner

  3. Idealism and sense of justice

  4. Sense of self

  5. Overexcitabilities

  6. Twice exceptional

  7. Perfectionism

  8. Underachievement

Slides 1-15 present essential information the importance of the affective domain, giftedness and brain research, and asynchronous development. If a slide has an associated activity, please complete that activity. Some activities are within the slides while others are located outside the slide to the right or to the left.

Slide 16 presents an additional six affective needs of the gifted child. Choose two of six to learn more about them and complete the associated activities within the slides where present.
