8th Grade Band Night REHEARSAL with the Marching Bees- Monday, September 8th 3-4pm at the stadium!

8TH grade band members will be joining the Marching Bees on the field to perform our National Anthem, the Alma Mater and 1 song during the Halftime Show with the Marching Bees at the Bees football game! Students will be in the band stands for the whole game to experience what it is like to be a "Marching Bee"
(Parents, pregame begins around 6:40 when we will be performing our National Anthem)
Your T-shirt for the game will be passed out upon arrival in the auditorium. Students should plan to wear black shorts or jeans. Please no color! Students need to wear closed toed shoes on the turf. When students arrive, students will receive their free band t-shirt. Depending on weather, students may want to plan to wear a long sleeve black shirt or hoodie underneath their t-shirt. Students are also welcome to bring a bag with additional items such as money for the concession stand! Don’t forget to bring your instrument and music as well!
Drop-off: 5:45 pm / Pick-Up 9:45 pm (approx.- we will send a remind when the game has concluded)
Both Drop-off and Pickup will be at the High School Band Room (DOOR H)
Parents: the drop-off/pick-up point is in the back parking lot past the high school. The band room is on the South side of the high school (as you look at the front of the high school, it is on the far LEFT). There is an exterior door, labeled entrance “H,” that leads directly to the high school band room. Students will then be directed to the stage from there.

Final Concert!!!
First, congratulations to our 8th Grade Band for the OUTSTANDING performance at the Music in the Parks Competition on Saturday! The weather didn't cooperate but the kids performed well and did a great job in the park representing BBH as a class act! They received a SUPERIOR rating which is the highest score you can get and a first for any of our 8th grade bands! You should be very proud of your performance! Attached are the two judge scores.
This week, we have to get right back to work to prepare for our final concert at BBHMS on Thursday, 5/8. We will start the concert at 7:30pm in order to give our 40+ students involved in the track meet time to get to the concert. Students meet in the band room at 7:10 to warm up! We will feature our 158 amazing 8th grade musicians for our final Orchestra, Choir and Band Concert! See you then!
Cedar Point Update 4/8
We are looking for 10 chaperones between band, choir and orchestra to join us on May 3rd for our trip to Cedar Point. You will need to purchase a ticket for Cedar Point (unless you have a gold pass). You will also have to complete a background check with the district (no charge).If you are able to drive separately from the bus, please let us know!
Chaperones will have groups of around 10-15 students at the park. We will use the BAND communication app to communicate with students. Sign-up for BAND app here: OFFICIAL CP COMMUNICATION Students must be with at least one other student at all times. We will come up with checkin times throughout the day. More info to come!

The Band Citrus Sale as the first fundraising opportunity for students to offset the cost of their trip. The sale will be from 2/25 until 3/21. It is delivery only for the product. Here is a link to the information regarding the citrus sale and also how bee bucks in the band boosters are used.

2025-2026 BAND CAMP INFO - Tentative & DISNEY TRIP INFO
Week One: 5/19/25 to 5/23/25: 3 to 6 pm on the turf. Monday is just leadership, tuesday is leadership & new members, Wed-Frid is all.
Week Two: 8/3/25 to 8/8/25: Sunday is from 2:30 to 6:00 on the turf for review as well as uniform fitting.
Monday to Friday will roughly be 11 am to 7 pm.
2025-2026 Band Trip: Walt Disney World 11/18 /25 to 11/21/25
The Marching Bees will be traveling back to the Happiest Place on Earth.......WALT DISNEY WORLD!
The school board approved our school board on December 18th. The timeline has shifted from
previous trips to take place in November (in the past, it was over spring break) and we will also be
taking a charter plane (instead of the 24 hour bus ride to and from). All details will be revealed at our February 25th trip meeting.
The cost, itinerary, and details will be discussed at this meeting, so please hold all questions until then.
As of now, the price is around $2,000 per student who will be in a quad room. There will be
opportunities for fundraising for this trip and they will be revealed once the fundraising committee
meets in January, and then discusses the plans with the Band Boosters at the February board
meeting. For parents/students who cannot attend, we will come up with a form that you can submit
questions at a later date.

Memorial Day Parade 5/27 (OPTIONAL BUT STRONGLY ENCOURAGED!!)
Students will begin the day and also end the day at the high school. We will bus from the band room to Brecksville, then travel to Broadview Heights, and finally return back to BBH.

We are #31 in the line up behind City Hall. Line-up begins at 8:30.

8th Grade Band Members will be bussed back to the HS Band Room after this Ceremony to go home. The rest of the HS Band will go to the Broadview Height Parade.

We will hold our new members parent meeting on June 3rd at 6:00 PM.
Final Band Booster Meeting on June 3rd
The final band booster meeting will be on June 3rd at 7:00 PM. It will be a pot luck dinner. Details to come out soon from the Band Boosters.
May 21st Final Band Concert!
Our final band concert for the school year will be held on Tuesday, May 21st. Our 8th grade concert will be with the BBHES 5th grade band and will be held at 6pm! The 6th and 7th grade band concert will be the same evening but starting at 7:30 pm.

Our March Band Concert will be at 7pm on Tuesday, March 19th. This concert will feature our MS Jazz Band, 6th Grade Band, 7th Grade Band and 8th Grade Band.

Our Cedar Point Performance is on Saturday, May 11th! We do not have exact times but it will be an all day event. Please read and fill out the Cedar Point Interest Form here: Cedar Point Interest Form
Students have completed the HS Band/8th Grade Band Assessment this past week. If they did not complete it in time to submit it on the google form, please email me the assignment in order to get credit!!
Band Camp pre camp will be 5/21 to 5/24 from 3 to 5. This is directly after school.

5/27 is the Memorial Day Parade. We are going to invite our 8th grade/New Bees to march with us!!! While it is not a requirement, it is an amazing opportunity for our 8th grade band members to make the transition to a Marching Bee!! More details to come!
