SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES UNITED FOR HEALTHY LIVING
HUDDLE (Helping Us Develop Dedication, Leadership, and Enthusiasm) is a peer support and leadership program designed to empower high school students through active involvement in school and community initiatives. The program emphasizes positive decision-making and equips participants with the knowledge and resistance skills needed to make healthy choices.
A central component of HUDDLE is its peer mentoring program, which focuses on students in grades 6 through 8. Through engaging lessons, HUDDLE members help younger students strengthen their decision-making abilities, raise awareness about the dangers of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, and promote open communication between parents and children.
SADD stands for Students Against Destructive Decisions, a student organization that promotes positive decision-making and preventing harm to young people.
SADD's mission is to empower students to make positive decisions and to prevent harmful behaviors.
Focus Areas:
They address issues like underage drinking, substance abuse, impaired driving, violence, and suicide.
Peer-to-Peer Approach:
SADD relies on students to educate and influence their peers through school and community activities.
HUDDLE Jr. is a leadership club at Brecksville-Broadview Heights Middle School for 8th-grade students. The club helps young people develop important life skills while also contributing to their school and community. By focusing on leadership, volunteerism, and promoting healthy choices, members gain valuable experiences that can build self-esteem and make a positive impact.
The club’s emphasis on being positive role models and peer mentors is also an important aspect, as it helps members foster a sense of responsibility and encourages others to make wise decisions. Throughout the school year, HUDDLE Jr. members engage in prevention activities in the middle school and larger community.
