SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES UNITED FOR HEALTHY LIVING
The Community Awareness and Prevention Association (CAPA) is a 501(c)3 founded in 1989 to prevent and intervene in drug and alcohol abuse in the Brecksville-Broadview Heights schools and communities. The CAPA coalition provides a consistent voice and forum for awareness, education, and prevention to support safety and welfare for all community members. CAPA creates strategies based on extensive local data that have contributed to the prevention and reduction of youth substance use.
The CAPA coalition represents all sectors of the community, including parents, school and law enforcement personnel, business professionals, religious leaders, health providers, and other community activists who work at the local level to make the communities of Brecksville and Broadview Heights safer, healthier, and drug-free for all residents. These strong partnerships enable the coalition to address a wide variety of topics and communicate the risk and protective factors impacting our families.
Mission Statement: The Community Awareness and Prevention Association's (CAPA) mission is to collaborate with the Brecksville and Broadview Heights communities and school district to plan and implement strategies to prevent and reduce youth substance use while encouraging healthy life choices.
