MEDICATION POLICY

Medication can only be administered by the nurse upon receipt of written permission from

both the child's medical provider and the parent/guardian.

Both prescription and non-prescription medications require written medical provider and parent/guardian permission.

Go to "Health Office Forms" section.

Parent/guardian must supply the school nurse with the necessary medication and pick up any unused portion.

All medications must be in their original labeled containers.

Students may not carry medication in school with the following exception:


    • Students deemed capable by their medical provider may carry and use inhalers upon receipt of an asthma treatment plan signed by the medical provider and the parent/guardian.

  • Permission has been obtained from our school physician so that Tylenol (acetaminophen), Benadryl and Epi-pens may be administered to students with parent/guardian written permission.
  • See appropriate section of your child's emergency card to give your permission.
