Special Education Referral Process

Initial Referral:

A written request from parent, teacher, educational specialist, or I&RS/MTSS is received.

Identification/Planning Meeting:

The team discusses parent and teacher concerns to determine if evaluations are warranted. The team will also review relevant records and data.

Evaluations:

Evaluations are conducted, if warranted. Children are assessed in all areas of suspected disability.

Initial Eligibility Determination:

The IEP Team will review evaluation results and determine eligibility for special education and related services.


IEP Development/Consent:

If eligible, the IEP team with develop the Individualized Education Plan
