School counseling programs are collaborative efforts benefiting students, parents, teachers, and the overall community. School counseling programs are an integral part of students' daily educational environment, and school counselors are partners in student achievement.

THE AMERICAN SCHOOL COUNSELORS ASSOCIATION NATIONAL MODEL

The ASCA National Model is a framework for school counseling programs. It outlines the components of a comprehensive school counseling program. The ASCA National Model brings school counselors together with one vision and one voice, which creates unity and focus toward improving student achievement.

THE ROLE OF SCHOOL COUNSELORS IN EDUCATION TODAY

School counselors are licensed educators with a minimum of a master's degree in school counseling, making them uniquely qualified to address all students' academic, career, and social-emotional development needs by designing, implementing, evaluating, and enhancing comprehensive school counseling programs.
