Bauxite has long been the heart of its community, with education serving as a cornerstone of its history. The first schoolhouse was established in 1902, followed by the construction of the first high school in 1911. During the Great Depression, the Works Progress Administration (WPA) built a school that stood for decades until it was tragically lost to a fire on January 5, 2001.
In its place, a modern high school was constructed in 2001, continuing the legacy of excellence in education. Today, Bauxite Public Schools proudly serves students through Pine Haven Elementary, Bauxite Middle School, and Bauxite High School, preparing future generations with a strong foundation for success.
