I am so impressed with how many of you are caught up in math...well done!! Volume 2 (math books) will be sent home next class.
For this week:
Chapter 9, Lessons 9.3, 9.4, and 9.5 In class, we used models and dice to practice generating equivalent fractions.
IXL Suggested Skills: These will appear on your student's IXL dashboard. You could also enter the 3-digit code directly into the IXL magnifying glass in the upper right hand corner of your IXL home screen. (Chapter 9: Lesson 3: 3R5, Lesson 4: 5ZG, 7CY, Lesson 5: QG2, 7KM)
Fluency Packet: Page 3 Subtraction Pre-Assessment: Please administer and check for calculation and procedural errors. Reteach skill if necessary. The most common error is subtracting from the bottom up.
Fluency Packet: Page 4 Subtraction Practice: Work on throughout the remainder of the week

Freckle math practice - Optional (There is a fraction domain)
I have linked a game, "Satis Fraction", that is helpful as we work on this fraction unit (Chapters 9-12). I will show students how to utilize this.
Students/Parents: Beginning this month, we will be including 30 minutes of IXL Math Practice weekly as part of students' grades. Please target the IXL suggested skills listed above and the fluency skill for the week. Of course you may then include games in the "Fluency Zone" and IXL recommended skills tailored to individuals.
