All math resources are posted in Google Classroom weekly.
It was a pleasure meeting you during orientation week, and I look forward to getting started in class! For the first day of in-person learning we will begin with skills in Chapter 1 and learn a fluency game. For my Monday/Thursday students...please be aware that we will be having another class join us for the first day of school only, so things may seem a little tight. Our regular class and routine will start the following week.
Once we're settled in, I will be assigning an orientation video for students and parents to watch together. This video will describe, in detail, what 4th grade math is all about!
Go Math Chapter 1, Lessons 1-3.
IXL Suggested Skills: These will appear on your student's IXL dashboard. You could also enter the 3-digit code directly into the IXL magnifying glass in the upper right hand corner of your IXL home screen. (Lesson 1: 2Y7, WLP, 9DJ; Lesson 2: M5V, 5G4; Lesson 3: 6Y2, 94E)
Parents, if you find the four pages of instruction in the workbook to be too cumbersome, I've included a PDF of the Reteach pages for you to use in your instruction at home. These pages concisely teach the concept in only half of a page. I still, however, need students to complete problems on the Practice/Homework pages. If they can complete all of the problems on the practice pages, that would be great. But, if it's a struggle and you'd like to reduce the amount, you may at your discretion. Just please complete all of the spiral problems on the back of the practice page.
Practice writing numbers in standard and word form (Practicing writing checks is a great way to do this! We will be doing some in class, yet I've also linked a template below)
Work on fact fluency using flashcards, dice, cards...whatever it takes :)
Instructions won't be as lengthy once our year gets underway!!
