Focus Skills for November:
Multiplication facts, Multiplying by 10, 100s, 1000s
Remember the goal at home is to teach the concepts. Students are not expected to complete every page of the workbook. The first 4 pages of each lesson are instruction pages. The focus pages will be the practice and homework pages.
As you teach these concepts at home, watch for your child's understanding. If they have a concept down, you may choose to adjust the amount of problems that they complete on these pages. The goal is to keep the learning moving forward at a pace appropriate for your student! The Spiral Review problems on the last page of each lesson need to be completed to help retain math learning throughout the year.
Links for Teacher Editions are on Google Classroom posted under the Math resources heading.

Here are a few tips to help with the lessons at home:
Lesson 3 focuses on Base Ten blocks or a quick draw picture. Discuss this at home but if it is not a favorite strategy, do not require your student to draw on pages 193 and 194.
Lesson 5 uses the Distributive Property to teach multiplying a two digit number by a one digit number. Review this along with the standard method for multiplying. (Charts included here.)
Other helpful resources can be found on Google Classroom under the Chapter 4 resources tab. Please keep reviewing multiplication facts for 0-12.
