Hello Kinder Families,
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me. I was born in Saigon, Vietnam, and moved to the United States when I was six months old. We lived on the Lewis Army Base in Tacoma until I was six, when we moved to Vancouver, Washington. I attended school at Image Elementary, Cascade Junior High, and Evergreen High School in Vancouver, Washington, and earned my BA and Master's in Education from WSU -Go Cougs!
My family consists of my hard-working husband, three amazing children, Hanna, Miranda, and Joshua, and sweet little grandson named Warren, three very cuddly cats, Mimi, Mei Mei, and Munchkin, and one little sassy Westie named Yuki. When I am not teaching, some of my hobbies are traveling, photography, spending time gardening, watching movies, and cooking and baking for my friends and family.
I have been teaching kindergarten for twenty-two years. It seems like I started my teaching adventure only yesterday! My background in kindergarten consists of teaching in half-day, full-day, Spanish immersion, and Alternate Learning Environment K programs. Before teaching at RHL, I taught for eleven years at Cornerstone Christian Academy. I served as lead teacher for the K program, started a mentoring program for primary-aged girls, and led a Girl Scout troop of forty students for eight years.
I feel that communication is key to effectively partnering! Building relationships is what makes partnering with parents so successful here at RHL, and it is the fabric of what we are made of. No question or concern is too small, and I am always here to assist you in any way I can. Please feel free to email me at roderick.miranda@battlegroundps.org to make an appointment.
Your child's teacher,
Mrs. Roderick
