Students' personal creative pathways are directed by students and collaborated on with instructors/guides.
Students' interests and passions are honored and will increase engagement.
Students learn to problem-solve, evaluate resources, test solutions, utilize feedback skills, and hone collaboration skills.
Studio16 is run like a professional design studio.
Students and volunteers are part of the Broyles Design Group, LLC (Lynx Learning Center)
The Broyles Design Group will learn to be creative problem solvers and collaborate with each other to move on from stumbling blocks.
Instruction will be through a flipped classroom scenario where students will watch learning videos at their own pace based on their own career path and interest level.
QR codes at various stations will provide the safety training and basic "Bootcamp" instructions to get them going... and project ideas to inspire their creative voice.
Live demo/workshops will also be held on some new media exploration days and based on the emergent choices from students. I will post workshop Menus for the week.
Think Google Corporate office space. There are many people working on many different things. There might be a small group meeting to do a feedback loop meeting for guidance and feedback. There might be someone painting for 3 hours because they got the stuff all out and/or it is Wednesday. There might be a team of game designers and illustrators working together on character design.
All students in Broyles Design Group Program:
Students are given choice as to what their career path will be and can work on that art field individually or in small groups in the class. They will sign in/or scan into the room upon entering and exiting.
RHL High School-FLEX- students in Broyles Design Group Program:
FLEX students will be allowed to come and work when they need to, and stay as long as they need or want. They are considered remote learners and will not be tied to a scheduled class. They will sign in/or scan into the room upon entering and exiting.
All students in Broyles Design Group:
Progress is evaluated each month using (1) an online portfolio created for the class, (2) your Feedback Loop Padlet with posts and comments, and (3) a Goal-Setting self-reflection survey.
Feedback is given virtually and face-to-face.
