1. Brief description and aims of module:

This module extends the research undertaken in MUS6110-20 Independent Study 1 in semester 1. Working with your supervisor, you will use this preparatory research to develop your work to complete a final written or practice-led submission.

2. Outline syllabus

In Independent Study 2 you extend the written or practice-led research project you started in MUS6110-20 Independent Study 1, working with a project supervisor.

Having completed your preparatory research in MUS6110-20 Independent Study 1, you will work with your supervisor to create a new research plan that outlines the work for the second semester. You will continue your research, working independently and with tutorial support from your supervisor, to produce your final written or practice-led submission.

The final submission will be either a written thesis containing 5000 words of new writing (typically the main chapters and conclusion) or presenting and documenting the practice for a practice-led project equivalent to 5000 words.

3. Teaching and learning activities

You will complete your project through independent study, supported by your supervisor through regular tutorials.
