Description

1. Brief description and aims of module:

This module is open to singers and instrumentalists. You will be part of a company and directed/rehearsed by a professional director resulting in four public, fully staged, performances. The production itself is carried out as a group collaborative project with students from Level 5 Opera Project 1, which runs simultaneously. You will keep a rehearsal diary/log.

2. Outline syllabus:

There are weekly intensive rehearsals working with a professional director, which replicate the process of staging a professional opera performance in an opera company setting. You will keep a rehearsal diary/log reflecting on the piece, the rehearsal process and your part in it.

3. Teaching and learning activities:

Weekly rehearsals on two afternoons each week.
