1. Brief description and aims of module:
This module continues to develop your performance skills on a principal instrument/voice with a focus on more advanced technique and the continued development of musicianship skills relating to your instrument/voice, stylistic awareness, critical and analytical skills required for effectively critiquing your own performance. The module continues to address more advanced issues of performance practice together with specific aspects of wellbeing and performance anxiety.
The module aims to:
Focus musicianship relating to your instrument or voice
Work towards advanced technical security on your instrument/voice
Continue to work successfully in large ensemble/choir rehearsals and public performances
Explore advanced issues in performance practice on your instrument/voice
Explore issues in wellbeing and performance anxiety in your performance
Develop skills in marketing and promotion
2. Outline syllabus:
The course is delivered in workshops and seminars relating to specific topics around instrumental and vocal health and wellbeing relating to students' personal concerns with the physicality of performing and daily practice regimes. Sessions will also concentrate on technical and theoretical materials and issues in performance practice. There is also a focus on personal marketing and promotion as a solo performer in the twenty-first century music industry.
