This module will explore a range of Musical Theatre styles with a key focus on stylistic awareness, detailed engagement with repertoire and developing performance skills.
2. Outline syllabus:
This module offers a practical and theoretical exploration of performing different styles of Musical Theatre repertoire. Indicative styles to be worked on include musical comedy, musical drama, Brechtian influenced work, rock musicals and pop-opera.
3. Teaching and learning activities:
Lessons will be highly interactive and will largely take the form of class discussions and practical workshops. Throughout the module we will explore a range of musical material through a combination of whole-class activities and workshopping of prepared student work, leading to the final performance assessments.
